In this piece, I sought to provoke a reflection on memory as a vulnerable space. Through the combination of textures, colors, and shapes, I explore the situation in which memory is shattered and memories gradually slip away, leaving only fragments. The open shapes and lines that fold back on themselves like a whisper that fades into time, and the central opening, resembling a frozen scream, speak to us of a place where memories are stored, but also… of a space where they are lost.
Its surface oscillates between intense red, which emerges like a heartbeat, and a deep, almost black brown, rough and partially glazed, reminiscent of the fragility and opacity of memories. The duality between the glossy glaze and the matte texture speaks to the tension between what endures and what is erased.
Thus, this piece transcends its function as a vessel to become a symbol of broken memory, of suspended time, of the silence that inhabits oblivion.
Salva Nebot (Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in international institutions, galleries, and art fairs. His practice encompasses photography, painting, sculpture, and digital art, shaping a language that moves away from literal representation to explore subjective interpretation and the conceptual dimension. Influenced by the sensibility of German Expressionism, he articulates a critical reflection on perception, memory, and human experience. His work is characterized by formal rigor, the intense use of chiaroscuro, chromatic asceticism, and narrative fragmentation. Through light, shadow, and the superimposition of layers, he activates spaces of ambiguity and poetic density. His research addresses memory, absence, and oblivion, inviting the viewer to an interpretive threshold where the visible coexists with the latent.
