In this series, I delve into darkness like someone exploring the territory of desire. Black is not absence, but living matter; a space where light resists and the body is only partially revealed. In each image, I seek that instant when sight becomes touch, when seeing is almost touching, and desire merges with shadow.
The twenty works that make up Black Desire are fragments of the same quest. Each one functions as a window into the intimate, into… that zone where skin and shadow converse. There are no names or identities, only presences that vanish beneath the texture, bodies that allow themselves to be seen and at the same time slip away.
I wanted the viewer to feel that ambiguity: attraction and distance, beauty and loss.
Each work is a limited edition of ten copies, signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Each print is a trace of desire, a memory frozen in darkness.
Salva Nebot (Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in international institutions, galleries, and art fairs. His practice encompasses photography, painting, sculpture, and digital art, shaping a language that moves away from literal representation to explore subjective interpretation and the conceptual dimension. Influenced by the sensibility of German Expressionism, he articulates a critical reflection on perception, memory, and human experience. His work is characterized by formal rigor, the intense use of chiaroscuro, chromatic asceticism, and narrative fragmentation. Through light, shadow, and the superimposition of layers, he activates spaces of ambiguity and poetic density. His research addresses memory, absence, and oblivion, inviting the viewer to an interpretive threshold where the visible coexists with the latent.
