About this artwork
This painting is of the IHOP at exit 7 off Interstate 81 in Bristol Virginia. The location however, is unimportant as this could really be anywhere. I find it interesting and slightly humorous to investigate the character of a franchise culture that we never consider. It is there to be functional and yet affects us.

Sam Morrow is an experienced painter from the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Growing up in an artistic family, Morrow developed his current style investigating the virtual world and the dehumanizing of the individual via the internet. Working exclusively in oil paints, he creates figurative work, close up portraits, and landscapes that explore unconventional subject matter.
