Samantha Schulz builds the surface layer by layer, this process can take weeks or months until she believes that the latest layer is the last layer. She uses contrasting marks and mediums to build a dynamic and visually stimulating surface This piece is made up of a multitude of layers of acrylic paint, spray paint, pigment, resin and foil. British born artist Samantha Schulz graduated from Bradford College UK with a BA in Art and Design with Distinction, specializing in Fine Art printmaking. In her final year she was nominated for The Graduate Artist of the Year Award.
She has lived in eight different countries with her husband and two children. She collects inspiration from her experiences of life and culture in cities as diverse as Paris, Vienna, Nicosia, Istanbul, and Kuala Lumpur. She has had several solo exhibitions in Vienna and exhibited in group shows in the United Kingdom and Europe. Her nomadic lifestyle has meant that she has mainly sold work directly from her studios.
She currently divides her time between her studios in Amsterdam and
Vienna.
Her works take months to complete, and are more than decoration- the more time spent examining the piece will reveal an abundance of intricate details.
