In this painting, I explore the meaning of identity. I do not believe identity is fixed or simply given to us. It is shaped by our experiences, but even more by the choices we make and the awareness we develop throughout our lives.
The figure by the window represents learning and self-reflection. The mask symbolizes the identities we adopt, while holding it is a moment of recognition—a moment when I begin to question what truly belongs to me and… what has been shaped by fear, expectation, or habit.
For me, identity is not a destination but an ongoing journey. The more I observe myself without judgment, the more I discover who I am becoming. Through this painting, I invite the viewer to reflect on their own path of self-discovery.
