About this artwork
The painting is a premier coup done from real life (in one shot), no photographs or modern technology was used to produce this painting, I use the highest quality oil paints so that the painting will survive for centuries.
I painted this sault water pool in the south of france.
It is painted on MDF medium density fiberboard.
I am fascinated by sun light and I try to capture it in paint. Light is as important for a painting as sound is for music.…
most of my paintings are premier coups (one shot paintings) / alla prima, there are many other terms that are also relevant like plienair-paintings but as a visual person I try not to get caught up in the literal or verbal definition.
occasionally I work on the same painting for several sessions , they are all done on the spot in the nature observing the landscape and the changing moment.
