About this artwork
"Moulins de la colère" provokes unease. Does it spin or does it have multiple centers of gravity? In any case, it exudes a form of movement that we don't really know if it's alive, already dead, or somewhere in between. Letting yourself be carried along without paying attention to the nature of what you encounter is to risk losing your individuality and aspirations along the way.
Samuel Salel expresses himself through acrylic paint, Indian ink, ballpoint pen illustration, and living mineral painting, drawing on a rich training and an eclectic career spanning graphic design and art schools. He combines abstraction, surrealism, and figuration, multiplying universes and sometimes merging several techniques in a single work. He explores the themes of existence, alchemy, and imaginary mythologies, infusing his creations with a poetic tension between chaos and construction, each time revealing the enigmatic beauty of organic processes and happy accidents.
