My work is an explosion of emotions captured with mixed media; acrylics, oil pastels and colored pencils give life to an abstract and expressionist dialogue. Sandra Botner is an award-winning Argentinian artist whose paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions nationally. The discrimination within species is a recurring theme in her work, as animals that are classified as edible (cows, pigs, chickens, or fish) are viewed by society as being "without entity", which she believes naturalizes cruelty to the extreme. Botner's artistic expression is spontaneous and translated through visceral gestures. She immerses herself in the chaos that spots, splashes and drips propose.
