About this artwork
Recycled HOPE is the first sculpture that was made from this self-produced wood mass, thus the first work. This development process began with this figure. This statue is symbolic of hope. And should bring light to the owner in some dark days. This self-made wood mass was again elaborately modeled, combined with long drying times.

Sandra Brugger (*1986) lives and works in Pettneu am Arlberg and Nesselgarten near Fließ in Tyrol (Austria). In 2013 she completed her sculpture training at the Technical School for Arts and Design in Elbigenalp (Tyrol). In the same year she became self-employed as a freelance artist. Brugger has participated in 15 (inter)national sculpture symposiums and her works have been exhibited nationally, but also in the USA, Germany and Italy.
The subjects in Brugger's works are wide-ranging and range from abstract forms to nature and people. In addition to sustainability, she also weaves socially critical themes into her works. Brugger usually models her distinctive objects from a self-developed wood paste, which she painstakingly produces from wood shavings and sawdust. In addition to this material, she also uses wood, concrete and stone.
