About this artwork
In this work, I used vibrant colored pencils to create a surreal journey through feelings and thoughts. It embodies balance, gratitude, and self-love—an invitation to explore your inner nature. This image brings a powerful, harmonious energy into your home, inspiring meditation and positive change. I wanted to create a place of calm and inner clarity that invites reflection and letting go.
In a dreamlike, surreal landscape, a house rises that, at… first glance, seems to have fallen out of reality. It hovers slightly above the ground, supported by five powerful pillars that symbolically represent the cornerstones of life: health, relationships, inner self, finances, and vocation. These pillars are not made of stone or wood, but appear as if they were flowing energy, each imbued with a different hue and symbolism.
It is a house of the soul – changeable, mystical, intangible.
Sandra Haase uses standard colored pencils on white cardboard and incorporates her background in personal development into her surreal paintings. She works with colorful, profound, and multi-layered compositions in which dream worlds and reality merge; her style invites individual interpretation. With her works, she aims to convey wisdom, peace, and moments of inner calm, inviting the viewer on an inward journey.
