About this artwork
An abstracted, impressionistic floral tribute.
Sandy loves making fully abstract paintings, and is inspired by her enviroment, colour and paint itself. In fact all the things that guide her in my more landscape oriented work. In this painting, both late afternoon light and rose petals and the shadows and leaves on the dog rose in her garden are the starting point - summer colours and textures too.
Sandy uses beautiful quality acrylic paints, mostly… Golden acrylic, and Lascaux, and a large variety of brushes and palette knives, to drip, wash, smudge and paint the surface of the canvas, to create a rich and varied painting.
This 70x70cm painting is unframed. It had white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
