About this artwork
This is one in a series of paintings, large and small which are created wholly or partially on Sandy's wonderful road trip to Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Sandy loves blending and contrasting colour, and playing with colour relationships, as well as interpreting landscape. Semi abstract impressionistic paintings allow her to build up colour, tone and texture. Blues, pinks, coastpath walks, sea, beaches and ever changing sky were the force and inspiration… behind ‘Beach Flowers’.
She drops, flicks, use palette knives, and rags as well as brushes to create a rich textured surface on the canvas. She uses highly pigmented Golden acrylic paints which have a beautiful quality and create a deeply coloured image.
This 30x30cm painting is unframed, it has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
