About this artwork
This series of abstract landscape paintings is drawn from my memory of coast lines I have walked. The 24 karat gold leaf is applied midway through the painting process to draw attention to the seas or the skies, exactly where my attention was directed during my walk. An overhead light will enable to gold leaf to shimmer and shine as you walk past. Translucent layers of oil paint are applied to achieve luminosity.
