« The significance of art is having a choice without any attachments. It is a piece of me that is meant to be left behind. »
Sara Galkin is an American artist who considers her artistic expression to be an essential form of connection with her internal fabric. After having graduated from art school in 1994, Galkin worked in the corporate world, but increasingly felt disconnected from herself. Returning to art allowed her to be herself again and to inspire others to similarly be true to themselves. Working principally in oils, Galkin employs bright shapes and colors which are reminiscent of a universal childhood, with all its complexity and memories attached.
