About this artwork
The artist paints local scenes where she lives, in downtown Evanston, Illinois, USA. This is a painting she has made from a series of underpasses near her home. She noticed a woman on a bike passing under the train tracks and wanted to convey motion. So she blurred some of the edges of the figure to make it more dynamic. The figure is illuminated by a backdrop of colorful light from a mural.
