About this artwork
This piece is made considering the cyclic nature of time, it is made with recycled pigments. A mud rock ochre processed from a piece of Jurassic mdrock from the sea edge about to be washed out to sea, and from repurposed industrial graphite, bought by my Uncle in the 1970s when the steel works at Middlesborough were closed down. I made a series of works during lock down intended to create a sense of space and balance, a meditative space. This is…
one of the smaller pieces in the series, and using minimal gestures and the tonality of the pigment a sense of space is created on a small surface.
