While the artist was painting this character from an Indian play, the second corona wave was raging particularly brutally through India. The figure's expression symbolizes the situation: a beautiful country as if on pause. It is therefore dedicated to all the people of India who have been affected by the pandemic.

Seona Sommer is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany, whose works have been exhibited nationally as well as in Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Moldova , the USA and Taiwan . In her portraits she deals with the themes of humanity and diversity in order to “break through boundaries and overcome distances”. Sommer is particularly dedicated to humanitarian concerns. She works mainly with oil, but also pastels, charcoal and pencil.
