About this artwork
This sculpture is dedicated to the upheaval of recent years, which until then we could only read about in books or hear in the forecasts of futurists and reflections of philosophers.
This sculpture is the material embodiment of our state when we find ourselves in the epicenter of a catastrophe.
I remember very well when the Covid epidemic started. I had to fly to the symposium in China. I remember that when my flight was canceled, I thought, "Well,… they will deal with it and I will in China soon. Six months at the most."
Even in a bad dream I could not imagine what awaits us ahead, that the syposium will take place in 2 years, but without invited sculptors.
I was no less shocked by Russia's attack on Ukraine. I am interested in geopolitics a lot.
But according to experts' forecasts, and even taking into account our Slavic mentality, a war between these two countries is a desperate crazy step.
I really hope that our reality will again become a utopia and someone's fantasy.

« My easel sculptures are a symbiosis of the classical school of sculpture, a new look at traditional subjects, and the author’s technique of working with bronze. »
Sergei Oganov is an award-winning sculptor who hails from Belarus that was widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in Austria and China. Both his monumental and easel pieces explore myths, history, and humankind, including both weaknesses and emotions. Oganov prefers working with granite and bronze. All of the stages of creation in easel sculpture, from the first sketch to the bronze casting, he does himself.
