About this artwork
"In approaching Sergio Abrain's work, his inclination towards geometric abstraction, present in a good number of his pieces and which has had so much weight in design from Constructivism, Neoplasticism and Bauhaus, cannot be overlooked. No We cannot ignore either that the Aragonese artist has always been interested in the means of mechanical reproduction, so characteristic of design and very present in his collages and monotypes, as well as in the…
use of photographs in which he seeks, as already mentioned, objectivity. but, also, the estrangement, the estrangement from himself and from his own work. As he himself recently commented, his work is: "A ritual of small melancholic abysses outside a fixed terrain, outside a unique vital discourse."
