About this artwork
I was finishing an edit in my apartment and went out onto the balcony to get some fresh air and brighten up the afternoon. Just as I stepped outside, I saw a police officer standing on the corner, but in a very unusual spot: next to him, the crosswalk had an unpainted section.
And the uniformed man's body, in some way, visually, occupied that unbleached space.
I quickly went to get the camera, praying it wouldn't move during the few seconds it… took me to go back to the balcony. Luckily, it was still standing there, watching what was happening around it.
That moment was immortalized in this photo, which 3 years later was awarded as the winner of a contest organized by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
And the uniformed man's body, in some way, visually, occupied that unbleached space.
