About this artwork
In a semi-abstract way, a written name breaks down to descend and touch a dry, hopeless little plant. And where this name touches it, it begins to grow green again.
Conceptually, consistent with my artistic biography, I seek to convey in it that, when the nutrients of the earth are no longer sufficient and hope is exhausted, its invisible touch is what can bring life.
Technically, it was painted on a very thin canvas adhered to a similarly thin… plexiglass structure. It was then worked using my particular acrylic technique and sanded. The finished painting has a mixed appearance, somewhere between modern and rustic.
Sergio Manuel Patzer is a self-taught artist with over 15 years of experience, working primarily with mixed media on canvas, digital creations, and diverse materials. His work is influenced by a multicultural journey encompassing Argentina, Germany, Brazil, and his time in Africa. Faith and diverse cultural influences have profoundly shaped his artistic sensibility.
Sergio employs a unique technique that combines acrylics, sanding, and hybrid processes, including works created entirely by hand and others that incorporate only hand-finished details over digital prints, achieving results that are both visually striking and tactile. His style, characterized by originality and the union of the spiritual and the human, conveys profound emotions; it encompasses faith, feelings, and diversity, inviting the viewer on a journey toward the unique and authentic.
