Midnight. 12:00 AM.
I’m lying in bed. Can’t sleep.
In the darkness, I see a figure.
I ask, “Have you come for me?”
“Yes,” the figure replies. “The time has come — 11:51. You’re coming with me.”
“No!” I say. “You’re mistaken. It’s already 12:20. You’re half an hour late.
Now get out of here and learn how to add 2 + 2.”
The figure flickered... and vanished.
And here I am, still lying in bed, thinking:
Damn, I shut her down so cleanly — no warning,… no drama.
And I’m still alive. 😏
