There is a sense of an aching absence in this image. An uninhabited house of crumbling grandeur. It's not difficult to project one's own imagined habitation, especially when, like the artist, having a place to call home is a challenge. Buildings have such evocations or ghosts of human presence and absence. An ambiguous energy of mystery from the past as well as from any possible future in those rooms, halls and stairways.
