I flew kites as a child and I still do. Whenever I’m exploring the coast, I make sure I have a kite in the back of my car. I often bring my son, and it’s lovely to sit back and watch him play the same way I did all… those years ago. The artist Francis Bacon said that “the child within an artist never dies” and I feel those words strongest when I’m flying my kite on the beach. The title of this artwork is inspired by one of my favourite books - “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini.
