Vertical analogue cut and paste collage. Requires framing to be properly displayed. Elements include birds, dots, anemone, owl eyes, geometry, letterforms, numbers, columns + Dali reproduction. Palette is green and yellow white and purple. Societal turmoil and psychological restlessness bring me to collage which is destructive in that things are ripped out, cut up and Frankensteined together. In the ensuing malaise a fantastic mess of debris litters… the studio floor but on the collage itself a new order is generated and I assiduously focus on cordoning space; Cubist space wherein multiple views facet, fragment, fold and foment. Disparate elements remain foreign refusing to integrate. At best there is a palpable tension animating the image, a tension between the illusion of space vs. the physical fact of the flat picture plane sculpted in shallow relief; collage
