About this artwork
The dance between the artists' struggle with minimalism, while being drawn insatiably to it. She struggles with having an idea of a thick painting that turns into something beautifully thin, and owning that layered transparency and letting go of the original vision of luscious thickness. As such, for this piece she pictured herself and her struggles as the mountains she has been trapped within painting. She made her marks, embellished a few, and…
was done. This piece aims to honor the untouched space of the canvas that is left to hug the space that the artist occupies.

« There is always a way to find purpose and sense in the beauty of this dishevelled, senseless yet perfectly gorgeous world. Making art about that beauty is meaningful and worthy." »
