The artist was inspired by the thought that to have a "bleeding heart" is to have a heart of deep compassion and empathy for others. She painted this abstract image over a process of several weeks by applying layers, glazes, and heavy textures of vibrant color. The artist hopes that the viewer will be drawn into a meditative state of mind as they see this emotionally charged abstract image.
