About this artwork
Seeing Redemption 53 may be understood as a work about “seeing grace within concealment.” The broad green fields resemble the outer layers of life: growth, struggle, restoration, waiting, pruning, and renewal. The yellow light emerging through the gaps suggests that divine grace has not disappeared; it may simply be hidden beneath experiences we do not yet fully understand.
The painting evokes the truth that redemption often does not arrive with… a loud display, but appears quietly—in silence, in cracks, and in places partially covered. What we see may be complexity and concealment, yet God may already be preparing a passage of life beneath the surface. In this sense, green becomes more than a natural color; it becomes a sign of resurrection, healing, and new life.
Sherwin Wang, a Chinese-born painter and digital artist, fuses traditional oil techniques with modern digital tools. His work dwells in abstract minimalism and spiritual abstraction, meditating symbolically on faith and divine principles through color harmonies and layered forms. Each piece strives to evoke a quiet, spiritual resonance, imparting feelings of stillness, purity, and hope wrapped in the profound mysteries of faith.
