Shims is a Singapore-based artist known for her emotive and vibrant abstract compositions. Her works explores the interplay of colour hues and the dynamic relationships between them, portraying movement, freedom and joy. She also sought to transcend the confines of perceived reality through her artworks, offering a space of visual refuge to those who views them. As a graduate of Bachelor of Architecture, Shimin found inspiration from many sources around her and is most fascinated by the gifts that nature has bestowed upon this world - the hues, landscapes, terrains, flora and fauna and how each of their existence and rhythms are threaded symbiotically in the tapestry of nature. An inward journey of self-discovery has brought the artist to venture inward and explores the place of stillness and freedom that is available to anyone who wishes to seek it. These works of abstraction are portrayed through her expression allowing those who view to rest within their own stillness and presence.
