In this work, I wanted to capture the elusive essence of human identity with watercolor, allowing the colors to blend freely, expressing intense and contrasting emotions. The face emerges and fades, like thoughts and memories. This energy vibrates in the room, inviting the viewer to reflect on the flow of time and their own inner selves.

Shirin Eghbal, born in Iran and trained in painting at the University of Art in Tehran, continued her artistic career in Italy.
"My art is born from an inner need, from a deep need to express what words cannot tell. For me, painting is an act of presence, of truth: a sacred, suspended moment, in which time stops.
I work instinctively and immediately. I love to stay on the border between the visible and the invisible, between form and intuition, welcoming the unexpected. I am inspired by oriental painting, especially Japanese: there I found a philosophy of gesture that I feel is deeply mine. Every sign is essential, every empty space has a meaning and speaks.
