People sit on the terrace of a cafe and drink a cocktail. White parasols and a palm tree spread a southern flair. The whole scene lives from the fresh light of a sunny afternoon. Water glistens in the background. The artist captured the scene on site with the oil paints on the canvas. There was hardly any rework in the studio.

Sibylle Bross, an award-winning painter and draftsman who resides in Germany, has exhibited nationally as well as in Russia. Having previously focused on the figurative, landscapes have increasingly played an important role in her works. In addition to working on larger compositions in the studio, Bross also travels and plein air paints. She translates her interpretation of the landscape into light and color with oils on canvas.
