About this artwork
The painting is a classic tondo. At the center of the tondo is an egg from which two birds are about to hatch. The bird on the right is looking at a summery landscape with trees, while the bird on the left is looking at a ruined landscape with ruined trees. The tondo is further lined with four hatching birds. One in every corner. Here, too, the trees are destroyed. Between the hatching birds are lava spewing volcanoes. The four birds, outside the…
tondo, face the central egg and the two birds in the center. The painting has a custom-made model frame with gold leaf applications and is titled, dated and signed on the reverse.
