About this artwork
I'll never forget that hot summer of 1999. We were on a crowded beach, and almost every day the ferry took us to a small, semi-deserted bay facing two large white rocks. We returned in the evening on the last ferry, with the blue of that sea and the white of those rocks in our eyes. For my girlfriend and I, it was like being on cloud nine all summer. 31-Aug-2005
In this work, I wanted to capture the serenity of summer by the sea through the vibrant… light and intense colors of oil painting. With impressionist touches, I sought to convey the peace and energy of the coastal landscape, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in that sensation of infinite blue and warmth. This canvas embodies the breath of the sea and the magic of a timeless moment.
Silvano Crespi is a painter with a background in Political Science and a deep passion for oil painting, born from his study of the great European masters of the 18th and 19th centuries. He uses a reflective, introspective, and post-Impressionist technique, characterized by broad areas of color, a focus on light and shadow, vibrant colors, and perspectives that evoke infinity. His works, imbued with natural landscapes and atmospheric influences, convey an intense emotion of silent contemplation, celebrating the fleeting nature of time and the eternal relationship between the individual and the universe.
