ID - Self-Portrait with Pot is a conceptual work that explores the theme of identity in an era dominated by image and information overload. In this black-and-white art photograph, the artist uses a simple everyday object—a pot—as a reflective shield, a symbol of defense and introspection. The gesture evokes the need to protect one's inner self in a hyper-connected world.
The image is printed on matte cotton paper to enhance the tonal nuances and… texture of the shot. The print is mounted on an aluminum plate with spacers, creating a "floating" effect on the wall—a modern and refined presentation.
This work is a contemporary homage to the classical portrait, with subtle references to Leonardo da Vinci's Renaissance painting. Perfect for collectors who appreciate the symbolic value of photographic art, it offers a reflection on the need for self-affirmation and silence.
Silvia Noferi (Florence, 1977) is a fine art photographer. After a technical and artistic education, culminating in a diploma from the Fondazione Studio Marangoni, she worked as a printer and assistant in art reproduction studios, specializing in photography applied to cultural heritage.
His research merges imagination and reality, inspired by philosophical and literary thought. His images, with their rarefied and suspended atmospheres, explore themes of identity, dream, and memory, opening a dialogue with what lies beyond the visible—an "off-screen" that becomes the true focal point of his work.
Her visual influences include Nan Goldin, Gregory Crewdson, Alec Soth, Diane Arbus, and Sophie Calle. Some of her works are included in public and private collections.
