About this artwork
In this painting I merge figurative representation with surreal elements to create a world beyond our known reality. The use of tempera and gilding reinforces the mystical impression, while organic materials emphasize the earthiness. The angel traditionally symbolizes protection and hope, here it floats majestically above an unreal landscape and a naked white body that gives no indication of the relationship between the two protagonists.
