About this artwork
The Beacon painting is of the morning after the storm, the waves are still high but the wind has dropped. On the horizon - left hand of the paining is an orange light, the foreground just under the waves is an empty life raft, both are not visible on first showing. It does not interfere with the painting but adds a narrative for discussion.
The sea is a very uncompromising space and should be treated with upmost respect and not very one who sails… the sea survives.
