About this artwork
In my artwork I play with abstract shapes and geometric lines to create a composition that expresses both harmony and tension. Using acrylics on paper allows me to experiment with depth and texture while creating a play of overlaps and contrasts. This work is an exploration of balance and asymmetry, and the bold colors add a vibrant energy to any space.

« For me, painting actually works as a systemic structure. »
Simone Florell's paintings explore the needs of our stone age brains and our original impulses. The German artist also examines social structures, the fragility and dynamics of human relationships, anthropology, psychology and personal development, as well as culture and fear. Florell creates using acrylics on thick paper. The colored areas are applied with a brush and sponge, others are made up of layers of glaze.
