"Revisit # 5" is the last piece of the "Revisited" series.
The "Revisited Series" starts its investigation of former works by using the binary colors black and white
for the first painting and increasing its color palette by subsequently adding one more color for every following piece.
The "Revisited Series" concludes the set of works in this size format and on the medium
paper. It seeks out forms and relationships of the previous series and… examines their
dynamics and rhythms by using a modified color concept.

« For me, painting actually works as a systemic structure. »
Simone Florell's paintings explore the needs of our stone age brains and our original impulses. The German artist also examines social structures, the fragility and dynamics of human relationships, anthropology, psychology and personal development, as well as culture and fear. Florell creates using acrylics on thick paper. The colored areas are applied with a brush and sponge, others are made up of layers of glaze.
