About this artwork
In my work I combine acrylic, oil, pastel and charcoal to explore the complex coexistence between the human and the urban. Semi-abstract and figurative figures merge, reflecting on the masks we wear and how the environment shapes and fragments us. This work is a visual dialogue between human fragility and architectural resilience, inviting the viewer to contemplate their own inner city.
I am an Italian artist born in Genoa, but since 2007 I have made Belgium my home. Since I was young I have cultivated my passion for art, starting with drawings and then moving towards painting. I painted until 2004, but subsequently stopped my artistic activity until 2021. During 2023, I deliberately reintroduced figurative representation into my artistic corpus, thus inaugurating a series entitled "Urban". Through this new series, I have brought the figurative element back to a prominent role within my creations. For my part, this did not constitute an abandonment of abstract art, but rather an expansion of my artistic repertoire: I began to explore abstract art through the digital medium, resulting in entirely digital works.
