About this artwork
This is the original piece that led to the whole series. Golden Walls series started as an inspiration after
Gaya’s travel to turkey. The original photo she
took while sitting in a Turkish lounge then
translated into “Imagining beach in a Turkish
pub” and took her way back to her childhood and
imagining a completely different world though
surrounded by different barriers, obstacles and
walls. The dancing woman hasn’t let the walls
suffocate her but… danced her way through those
celebrating Sofi Gaya philosophy.
Her dance and the phone depict the hope
despite surrounded by dark and dingy walls.
