This bold-toned piece is based on a true story. A hand clasps a phone, its screen bearing news of judgement. We all had a similar email at some point drop into our mailbox be that for a job application or an exhibition open call. it's never pleasant. The emailer of this particular email added emojis at the end of their "bad-news-letter" which I found absolutely hilarious. This is an ironic painting to remind ourselves to never take rejection too…
seriously, just laugh it off and move on.

Sofia Efremenko is a Russian painter who has exhibited her works nationally and in Germany. As a young and emerging artist, she admits that she is still experimenting with her artistic expression.
