About this artwork
There are moments in life like Alice's, a before and after. The warning to curiosity is: once you see it, there's no going back. Often we are Alice, and new worlds open up. This work is that moment when desire and curiosity invite us to cross the line.
A painting is a field to be explored, not only what is there but what awakens in us every time we see it.
In this work, I sought to capture that intense blend of the inner world and reality, using… oil paint and gold leaf to highlight the light that emerges from within. The figure conveys introspection and mystery, inviting us to explore deep emotions. Vibrant energy inspires reflection and connection with the invisible.

Sol Halabi
United States
Sol Halabi's work fuses the figurative realism of the female face with experimental techniques: oil, pigments, waxes, marble dust, and gold leaf applied in an alchemical process. Her pieces inhabit a threshold between reality and dreamlikeness, evoking a contemplative, intimate, and ambiguous atmosphere. Each work invites us to pause, to connect with the essence and mystery of humanity.
