About this artwork
Large landscape of undergrowth. The spectator is literally inside the forest. The artist wanted to represent the abundance of a lush forest. Dark brown, green and purple tones. This series of landscapes is linked to the childhood memories of the artist, who grew up in Corsica, in the countryside. It can lead her to represent an invasive, destructive nature or, on the contrary, to express the comfort that it brings.

« Infusing life with a little magic. »
Solenn Marrel's works always originate from reflecting upon the relationship between nature and humanity. The French artist often conveys the invasivity of nature or the comfort it brings. Marrel describes most of the characters portrayed in her paintings as being in a dialogue with nature and in resonance with it. However, some of them are in a state of dissonance and imbalance, which she hopes will contribute to further questioning.
