About this artwork

In this work, I wanted to recreate the vibration that occurs in the eyes during extreme heat. The changing light is symbolized by the pearly and golden tones of the beach in contrast with the blue/purple shadows of the palm trees which appear or disappear depending on the location or inclination of the painting.
I incorporated sand and pigments to evoke a palpable closeness to nature, reinforcing the fluid transition between land and water. To finish,… I applied a glossy varnish to the sea to increase the translucency.
This painting, at the crossroads of expressionism and semi-abstract, invites the viewer to lose themselves in the contemplation of a translucent and iridescent nature.

Sonia Di Maccio is an established painter based in the south of France.

A graduate of ENSAAMA Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et Métiers d'Art), she began her career in advertising where she held several creative positions – roughwoman, illustrator, model maker and then art director, notably within the Euro RSCG agency (Havas).

She now paints nature in all its forms with passion. Thanks to her intuitive selection of colors and the textures that acrylic allows her to achieve, she captures the beauty of nature in a changing world to evoke emotion.
Her works, characterized by luminosity and the power of color, resonate with joy and visual harmony. Her works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and shows across France and Europe.
