About this artwork
This painting is very important to me because it was the result of the experience of a passionate love affair. Fibrillation is a medical term that refers to a disorder of the heart rhythm and I chose this title because the painting has to do with a heart, mine, which when I painted it, was beating very altered by the experience of that love.
Most of the most impactful things in our lives come without warning and can change your entire universe in… just a moment.
This is what this painting is about, about how I had just experienced a love that was brief in its days, but not in its essence, but lasted for years, how two souls that were not destined to be together in a conventional way had found each other and had broken down all the barriers that separated them to be together.
Months later, the painting was selected for the 2003 Generations competition of the Montemadrid Foundation and spent a year travelling around, taking the passion to its four corners.
