About this artwork
A monumental field of mineral blue—built through gravity, sediment, and silence. For collectors who value atmosphere, material presence, and lasting visual depth. Mineral Silence II is structured through vertical descent, atmospheric depth, and material restraint. It does not offer a fixed motif; instead, it establishes a perceptual condition. The elongated drips pull the eye downward, extending the wall and slowing visual rhythm. Across the lower… register, sedimented deposits and granular matter provide evidence of temporal accumulation, while the layered surface reveals a process of stratification rather than immediate resolution. Its visual density is present, but controlled. Energy is held rather than dramatized. The sense of suspension comes from a fall that appears retained, not completed; gravity is credible throughout the surface, yet never theatrical. This tension remains inhabitable because the work balances friction with containment.
Sonia J. is a contemporary abstract painter whose work operates beyond the white cube. Her practice explores large-scale abstract painting through repetition, vertical rhythm, and material restraint, creating works with strong architectural and symbolic presence. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media on canvas, she develops paintings that privilege duration and sustained attention over immediate visual impact. Silence functions as a structural condition, allowing the work to coexist with architectural, institutional, and private spaces without becoming decorative. Her paintings maintain autonomy across exhibitions, architectural environments, and contemporary interiors. Scale, surface, and layered accumulation are central to her process. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and is held in private collections. She lives and works in Europe. Former C-level Suite in the Technology Industry.
