In this work, I explored the dialogue between geometric shapes and mysterious symbols, using acrylics to create a vibrant contrast. Sonia Souissi, a painter originally from the Kerkennah Islands and now based in Paris, works with oil, acrylic, pigments, and textures, drawing on her Mediterranean roots and her background in computer science. She layers fragments of female figures, ancestral motifs, and universal symbols, creating a subtle balance between abstraction, figuration, ritual miniatures, and expressive graffiti.
