About this artwork
Everyone in Cilento knows this spot behind the small parking lot on Ripe Rosse in Montecorice, and there's always a reason to stop right here on the Cilentana road, gaze down at the emerald-green sea, feel the warmth on your skin, breathe in the scent of the pine trees, and experience the freedom of travel. Let yourself be swept away on this picturesque journey to enchanting places.
Sonja Kalmanfi is a painter who creates her art on canvas and paper using pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. She skillfully moves between realism and abstraction, masterfully capturing light, color, and moods. Her works convey a sensual melancholy and invite viewers to connect deeply with nature and their own inner selves at the threshold between dream and reality. She primarily uses the Cilento National Park in Italy as her setting and source of inspiration, where she spends time regularly. In her paintings, the landscapes of this country merge with the artist herself, her inner self. She uses color as an emotional medium and she not only describes objects or places, but also creates psychological temperature. This fits into the international trend of "slow painting" or poetic landscape painting of the present day.
