"Vai" – go on, don't give up, and means, keep going, always onward along the Cilento coastline, from Camerota to Palinuro. No matter which direction you look, look into the distance; you can dream of hope. Turquoise sea mixes with the cold blue water; it's this special, unique blend of subtle light over the sea. almost as if in a miniature world. My gaze upon this landscape is slightly melancholic, romantic, and this landscape touches me. If there are any shadows left, they disappear, they only flit briefly across my soul... With delicate pastels, I mix these tones directly on the paper, and my thoughts become completely free, and I sink into this scene.

Sonja Kalmanfi dedicates her artistic work with extraordinary consistency to the Cilento region in southern Italy. For her, the national park is not only a subject, but also a habitat, a source of inspiration, and an emotional point of reference. She lived there for extended periods, returns regularly, and exhibits her work there.
Light, color, and atmosphere become vehicles for memory, sensation, and inner states. The landscape thus appears not as a mere representation of a place, but as a mirror of a personal, inner experience.
