About this artwork
Everything is a matter of perspective. If you look at something from a completely different angle than before, your entire reality can change.
A prime example: Our memories of past events constantly change – depending on the identity from which you recall them. From a different self-image, you tell your own life story differently than you might have a few years ago, and you also remember different things.
This image, “Perspective” from my Shift… series, is the epitome of that. I used the same reindeer as a template, but mirrored it, made it look in the opposite direction, and inverted its colors so that it became blue.
Is it still the same reindeer? Yes! But in two different versions. And so you too can consciously choose which version of yourself you want to be.
